Gotzens

Gotzens is an attractive alpine village set amongst picture postcard scenery in the heart of Austria’s Tyrol region. The short distance to Innsbruck makes it a fantastic destination both for skiers, shopping enthusiasts and culture. It provides an excellent base for a ski holiday for all kinds of tastes and budgets.

THE SKIING
Olympia SkiWorld Innsbruck consists of 9 neighbouring ski areas including Innsbruck itself, Gotzens, Igls, the Axamer Lizum and the Stubaier glacier. The Innsbruck Glacier Ski Pass offers access to over 280km of pistes served by 78 lifts. The highest and main ski area is the Axamer Lizum which offers 42km of of ski runs for all abilities above its base at 1600m. Due to its position and altitude it is a snow-sure area allowing skiing until late April. 10 modern lifts provide fast and secure transport too.

A top altitude of 2340m from where you have the most fabulous panoramic views of the Tyrol. The valley station of the funicular and the chairlifts offer fast and easy access to the whole of the ski area. There are also plenty of alpine restaurants and bars at the top and around the base station. For better skiers there are ample off-piste possibilities and a fun park. The recent link to the village of Mutters also offers some excellent tree lined long trails.

APRES SKI
Between the numerous local villages there is a wide variety of après ski activities available including a visit to nearby Innsbruck for shopping and entertainment etc. Each village has a toboggan or snow tubing area, several with floodlit skiing. There is skating, bowling, disco’s and an excellent sports centre at Axams.
