COVID-19

Latest information and advice from the Department of Health and Social Care and Public Health England on the coronavirus (COVID-19)

Below you will find information that we have consolidated from the World Health Organisation, Public Health England and the UK government with regards to the public outbreak.

The government is closely monitoring the spread of the Coronavirus and is taking action at home and abroad.

Latest information and advice can also be found at www.gov.uk/coronavirus and the latest updates from the NHS can be found at www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19. The advice is regularly updated and we would encourage you to follow these updates on the government website which offers sensible and unbiased information.

We would suggest implementing the following precautions:

  1. Follow the advice given in the UK wide campaign, which has been launched to provide clear advice on how to slow the spread of coronavirus. This also gives advice on basic hygiene practices, such as the regular washing of hands and always sneezing into a tissue to stem the spread of viruses.
  2. Brief all school staff on the signs and symptoms of coronavirus (www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/)
  3. Check before travel if any pupil has travelled to or been in direct contact with anyone from a coronavirus affected area (e.g. for those who may have visited China within the last 14 days) – it is highly probable they will be denied entry to the designated destination.
