Italian Football Tour

Verona/Lake Garda

 

We are pleased to offer another very popular centre for sports tours in Europe. The beautiful North Italian region of Lake Garda offers a variety of places to visit together with excellent football fixtures against a variety of local clubs all within a short drive from our hotel. The season runs from October to late May and we make every effort to ensure fixtures for each team are as close together as possible.

 

Hotel Antares

This excellent 4 star hotel is situated only 12 kilometres from the centre of the historical city of Verona, a very short drive from the airport of Verona itself and close to the nearby Italian Motorway to Venice and Milan. Its spacious rooms come with air conditioning, satellite TV (with pay per view channels), a full en-suite bathroom with hairdryer.

The hotel has its own Wellness Centre (which is available to guests for a small fee) and includes a heated swimming pool, sauna, Turkish bath and massages etc.

The restaurant offers local and international cuisine together with a choice of snacks etc. There is also an American bar serving delicious aperitifs. Other features include a large outdoor pool, free wifi, a garden and outdoor seating terrace, on site café, fitness area and numerous other facilities.

Another major feature of this resort is that the Hotel Antares has a number of its own full size (and 5 a side) pitches which we regularly use for the fixtures against some of the local sides. This is of particular benefit for groups travelling by air and are available for the self- run training sessions.

 

Sports fixtures and other activities/visits

 

The arrangements closely mirror our Spanish program, featuring matches against local clubs in the Lake Garda area. We strive to ensure a high level of compatibility between visiting teams and local opponents. Matches are scheduled for the late afternoon and early evening, and whenever possible, all fixtures are held at the same venue.

We advise as to the playing surface of each fixture before teams leave the UK so appropriate footwear is taken.

 

Our tour quotation also includes several exciting activities:

• A visit to the San Siro stadium in Milan, home to both Inter Milan and AC Milan.

• A guided educational tour of the nearby Roman city of Verona.

• A ride on the cable car from Malcesine, on Lake Garda, to the year-round ski resort of Monte Bondone.

• Visits to the amusement parks Gardaland and Movie Studios, both just a short drive away.

• A trip to Venice, which can be arranged if fixture times allow.

Additionally, our hotel features its own football pitches for self-training sessions. We can also arrange professional training with coaches from one of the many Serie A teams in the area, such as Atalanta, Inter, or AC Milan.

We also offer this tour by air from a number of UK airports flying to the Italian airports of Bergamo, Verona, Venice and Milan Linate/Malpensa. Italian transfer times vary from 15 minutes (Verona) to 2.5 hours (Malpensa)
